A Lady Mechanika inspired Steampunk costume, showcased at Anime Festival Asia 2011, in the Singles Cosplay Challenge.
This costume is an interpretation of what Lady Mechanika might look like if she were a male (rather than female) character, with a decidedly formal-Oriental theme.
The cane features an LED-lit crystal in a pyrex glass tube chamber, and contains an LED-lit acrylic blade.
I was shortlisted by celebrity Cosplay judges Kaname & Usagi, and together with my partner Angelus (who did an Oriental Lady Mechanika) were the only two western (dubbed Amekomi, or Japanese pidgin for American Comic) characters to be featured amongst the 10 finalists.
Lady Mechanika was created in 2010 by Joe Benitez and Peter Steigerwald for an original series, and published by Aspen.
This costume is a work of fan art, and not a challenge to their copyright.
